Democrats give Ron Reagan prime time speaking slot
Interesting. I wonder if the nets will carry it. I know that NBC has already announced their plans for convention coverage.

Airliner lands at wrong airport – Jun 20, 2004
Yeah, that’s bad. I like CNN’s subheading on the story: Passengers told not to peek.

Huge jackpot reflects trend in state lotteries
Apparently some lotteries are getting harder to win. But I think many lotto players aren’t getting the point. The chances you’ll win are incredibly, incredibly small. Sock that one or two dollars a week that you spend on a ticket into anything, even a measly savings account, and unless you were that very lucky one, you’ll come out ahead. Think there aren’t people who are playing the lottery every week? Spend a few hours at a TV station between 10pm and 2a, for a few nights in a row — you’ll notice many of the same callers, needing the lotto numbers…

Woman taken from cruise for year-old marshmallow bust fine
I saw this on the wires at work, slugged as “Marshmallow Bust.” Intrigued, I read on. Not quite as interesting as I expected, but still strange.

Canada turns up heat on frozen pizza — they’re going to put a huge duty (tax) on self-rising pizzas imported from the U.S. Wow. Not good if you’re looking for some good, cheap DiGiorno in Toronto. (from CNN)
(my apologies to the Canadian readership.)

Wired 12.05: The Kingmaker is an interesting article about Walt Mossberg, the tech writer for the Wall Street Journal. He reviews lots of stuff — his columns are syndicated in other newspapers, too (at least, it’s in mine).

“A Kerry Landslide?” takes an interesting look at some of the polls and factors playing a role in November. The article makes the case that no matter what, it won’t be close — which I think is a good thing.
